ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Account Executive, who will join a strong sales team that values collaboration, communication and transparency. This individual is required to prospect in an assigned geographic territory. The account executive must convert prospects into customers using a defined process and market development sales activities. He/she will lead the effort to accelerate prospect acquisition by leveraging the company’s highly differentiated value-adds through selling to targeted prospects.  This proactive sales approach is supported by a savvy market development and demand generation strategy.  The account executive must link the sales to the operational capability of Relay Fire & Safety. This is a ground floor building opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious person. This role reports to a sales manager.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Attract and convert prospects into new customers by consistently articulating the Relay Fire & Safety value proposition
  • Follow the established sales strategy, processes and programs to shift prospects into new customers within the Relay Fire & Safety Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
  • Develop fire and life safety solutions that are a fit for each targeted prospect
  • Demonstrate efficient time management by spending time on activities that increase the chance of quota realization with a concern for EBITDA expansion, while also being value and mission driven
  • Maintain the pulse on competition, as well as understand how the buyers of Relay Fire & Safety products and services make purchasing decisions
  • Drive revenue to Relay Fire & Safety through prospects by establishing and selling solutions through the Relay Fire & Safety platform of products and services
  • Establish scale and profitability by helping professionalize the Company’s go-to-market strategy and sales function
  • Facilitate optimization of gross margin throughout the organization
  • Partner with marketing to ensure the Relay Fire & Safety value proposition and selling “story” remains relevant
  • Gather all information needed to make informed recommendations
  • Persuasively sell ideas to gain support and buy-in

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent education and work experience
  • 3 – 5 years of progressive outside sales experience

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Fire Sprinkler Service and Install Fitter Technician to join our team!

As a Fire Sprinkler Service and Install Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, service, and/or repair of wet-pipe, dry-pipe, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems. Also responsible for ensuring high levels of accuracy of these responsibilities and working in accordance with applicable national and local Codes and Standards.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform installation, service, and/or repair of wet-pipe, dry-pipe, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems
  • Perform periodic inspections per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 25 standards – internal piping inspections, obstruction investigations, flow tests, and hydro tests
  • Provide accurate documentation through the use of Service Trade and state/local documentation as required
  • Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
QUALIFICATIONS

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician  to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly and in compliance with safety regulations. You will work closely with clients and colleagues to troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and provide exceptional service.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Inspect fire sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, and gauges, to ensure proper functioning and compliance with regulations.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems as needed, including replacement of damaged components and repairs of leaks or malfunctions.
  • Conduct tests on fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are working effectively, including flow tests, alarm tests, and backflow prevention tests.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and identify the cause of malfunctions, making recommendations for repairs or replacements if necessary.
  • Install new fire sprinkler systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and local fire codes.
  • Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate guidance to clients and colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • NICET Level III or higher certification in Water-Based Systems highly preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of fire protection systems, NFPA codes, and industry standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.
WORKING CONDITIONS

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician to join our team!

As a Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for performing the inspection and testing, of fire sprinkler systems, hood suppression systems, and backflows for compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers’ requirements, federal, state, and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform inspection and testing of all types of fire sprinkler systems as well as hood suppression systems
  • Perform inspection and testing of backflow prevention devices as required by USC 10 and state and local codes, separate certification requirements may be necessary based upon the jurisdiction
  • Assist/coordinate with all forms of life safety system testing
  • Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 1 years’ experience in fire sprinkler systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • NICET II (Water based systems)
  • Oregon Backflow Assembly Tester Certification (Oregon State Certification), preferred
  • Certificate of Fitness (COF), (Portland Certification) for Fire Sprinkler/ Underground/ Fire Extinguisher/ Fire Suppression
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Account Manager to cultivate relationships within a geographic book of business. This position is responsible for retaining and growing our existing customer base. In this position you will build rapport with our existing customers to sell repairs and deficiencies, new service lines, and products. Our top customers are businesses in industries focused on following compliance and regulatory standards to keep properties up-to-code. Those customers include sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, large commercial properties, hospitality, and education. You will collaborate with service managers, shop and support staff, technicians, customers, sales, engineers and others to help deliver best-in-class Relay Fire & Safety service. This role reports to a general manager.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Leverage best practices to drive new business opportunities to our existing customer base; build and effectively manage a book of business of prospects to drive growth and retention
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to prioritize and penetrate key accounts; quickly build relationships with key stakeholders to drive business
  • Develop relationships with general contractors, fire marshals, and decision makers and influencers in the territory and industries of focus
  • Develop a working knowledge of all fire and life safety codes and compliance regulations
  • Build excellent client relationships by offering value added, insightful and consultative guidance into their business
  • Diligently work the life cycle of the sales process from prospecting to close
  • Utilize CRM and selling tools to elevate the customer experience and drive success

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 – 5 years of proven B2B sales experience

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Fire Alarm Service & Install Technician to join our team!

As a Fire Alarm Service & Install Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, and repairing of fire alarm panel systems to ensure systems and equipment continue to work according to functional specification.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform fire alarm commissioning to ensure that systems and equipment continue to work according to functional specification
  • Perform on-site routine and emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs, in addition to the installation, inspection, testing and servicing of low voltage life safety product lines and fire alarm systems
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and correct according to code standards
  • Write and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets
  • Read and interpret various blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and product manuals to properly program and verify systems
  • Provide customer instruction as it relates to proper device use, preventative care, and consistent maintenance to prevent future system malfunctions
  • Evaluate customer site for additional equipment and services that customer may require
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician
  • 2 years’ experience as a journeyman low voltage electrician
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • NICET II Fire Alarm Systems or higher certification
  • EL-O6 (Limited Energy Technician) Electrical License
  • Working knowledge of NFPA Standards (including 70 and 72) Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements (preferred)
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
  • Valid state issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May work near moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform regular service, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems according to industry regulations, NFPA & NEC code requirements and manufacturer specifications.

  • Strong understanding of fire alarm system components, wiring, and operation.

We are looking for a Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician to join our team!

As a Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician, you’re responsible for performing the inspection and testing, of fire alarm systems for compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers’ requirements, federal, state, and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform inspection and testing of all types of fire alarm systems
  • Perform inspection and testing of backflow prevention devices as required by USC 10 and state and local codes, separate certification requirements may be necessary based upon the jurisdiction
  • Assist/coordinate with all forms of life safety system testing
  • Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
  • Document all testing findings in accordance with NFPA and local requirements
  • Perform fire extinguisher duties 10-20% of the time
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 plus years experience in fire alarm systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • NICET II (Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Test and Inspect)
  • FA-1 Fire Alarm Systems (Seattle Certification) preferred
  • FEX-1 Fire Extinguishers (Seattle Certification) preferred
  • E4 Wet/dry chemical fire extinguishing system preferred
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to travel overnight over multiple days occasionally

We are looking for a Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team!

The Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for the sales, maintenance, and repair of fire extinguishers on existing customer routes as well as selling and conducting fire extinguisher demonstration classes. Also responsible for ensuring high levels of accuracy of these responsibilities and working in accordance with applicable national and local Codes and Standards by performing the following duties.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs as required for all types of fire extinguishers as mandated by Standards and codes, manufactures requirements, and expectations and requirements of the company
  • Promote, sell, and secure new business and fire extinguisher training classes
  • Stay current with technical aspects of job by reading technical manuals, bulletins, product brochures, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and perform service and repair of fire extinguishers
  • Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations
  • Survey facilities for fire and safety needs and reference any requirements needed
  • Teach fire extinguisher training classes
  • Demonstrate products and/or services and assist customer in selecting those that best fit their needs
  • Provide customer support in creating quotes, answering questions, laying out fire equipment needs and follow-up all jobs to assure customer satisfaction
  • Investigate and notify company of competitive products, promotional sales, selling techniques, pricing, warranties, and market policies
  • Twenty percent (20%) of time may be spent performing First Aid duties such as performing inspections of and restocking first aid kits to ANSI standards, performing inspections of all types of eye wash stations and showers to all applicable standards, as well as setting up new facilities with the correct first aid kits and eye wash stations to all applicable standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • NAFED/ICC Portable Fire Extinguishers Certification (preferred)
  • Valid state issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must have the ability to obtain any and all licensing required within 90 days of hire.
IDEAL QUALITIES
  • 1 years’ experience in Fire Protection industry or other related industries such as construction, electronics, or sales distribution
  • Working knowledge of NFPA #10 Standards Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS

The Fire Alarm Technician Apprentice will learn duties including install and service of fire alarm systems with knowledge of multiple manufacturer’s products. The Fire Alarm Service Technician will provide accurate and detailed work orders and daily reports with proper documentation of improvements and complications.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Tests all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure performance of system
  • Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of jobs.
  • All work is performed to NFPA and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practiced.
  • Willing to complete documentation as necessary in a neat and timely fashion; with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willing to use mobile electronics such as a computer tablet to record and transmit inspection documents.
  • Willing to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Works with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Ensure that work is completed so it can be billed in full)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license; in accordance with Company policy, and be willing to travel within the state of Maryland
  • Willing to pass pre-employment drug screen, reference and background check

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Account Manager to cultivate relationships within a geographic book of business. This position is responsible for retaining and growing our existing customer base. In this position you will build rapport with our existing customers to sell repairs and deficiencies, new service lines, and products. Our top customers are businesses in industries focused on following compliance and regulatory standards to keep properties up-to-code. Those customers include sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, large commercial properties, hospitality, and education. You will collaborate with service managers, shop and support staff, technicians, customers, sales, engineers and others to help deliver best-in-class Relay Fire & Safety service. This role reports to a general manager.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Leverage best practices to drive new business opportunities to our existing customer base; build and effectively manage a book of business of prospects to drive growth and retention
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to prioritize and penetrate key accounts; quickly build relationships with key stakeholders to drive business
  • Develop relationships with general contractors, fire marshals, and decision makers and influencers in the territory and industries of focus
  • Develop a working knowledge of all fire and life safety codes and compliance regulations
  • Build excellent client relationships by offering value added, insightful and consultative guidance into their business
  • Diligently work the life cycle of the sales process from prospecting to close
  • Utilize CRM and selling tools to elevate the customer experience and drive success
  • Sell, influence, and build trusting and value-added relationships
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 – 5 years of proven B2B sales experience

ROLE OVERVIEW

In this role, you will design building fire alarm systems by selecting the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services the product & applications portfolio that will deliver the highest value to the customer while supporting overall Relay Life Safety business objectives.

The successful candidate will be a high performing operations professional. The primary focus of this role is being the lead technical resource in the company supporting projects / retrofits etc. in delivering projects. This position requires a continuing commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Candidates will possess the ability to communicate technical concepts/solutions to internal and external customers; e.g. conducting site walks, accurately reviewing customer specs, and with the ability to identify opportunities, risks, and resources required to achieve results within the proposal cycle.

This is a field-based position where you may perform any number of roles. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and Sales Team in delivery of any of the following project components…system design/review, software, and installation, startup, commissioning, and owner training.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Assist project managers in project delivery…finances, schedules, and contractual obligations.
  • Utilize a cross matrix team of professionals.
  • Change order pricing help for out-of-scope items and recommended improvements
  • Forecasting assistance for project labor needs
  • Coordination of work with our internal team, subcontractors, and other trades
  • Ownership of project updates to project managers
  • Attending job meetings as required as directed by the project managers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, or 5 years in-field experience in fire alarm systems, including design and/or installation.
  • Certifications and/or Programming experience with: EST-3, EST-4, or equal Fire Alarm System
  • NICET III or above certification, currently active and in good standing.
  • Experience with fire alarm systems, including voice evacuation and mass notification
  • Knowledge of current NFPA, IFC, IBC, and other applicable codes related to fire alarm systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Fire Alarm Design, and Programming is a plus.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
  • Ability to understand customer requirements/restraints and offer a cost-effective solution to the service needs.
  • Experience with hand tools, test equipment and a digital multi-meter for the use of troubleshooting ground faults, short faults, and open circuits.

We are looking for a Fire Alarm Programmer to join our team!

As a Fire Alarm Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and repairing fire alarm panel systems to ensure systems and equipment continue to work according to functional specifications.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Perform fire alarm commissioning to ensure that systems and equipment continue to work according to functional specification
  • Perform on-site routine and emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs, in addition to the installation, inspection, testing, and servicing of low voltage life safety product lines and fire alarm systems
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues/deficiencies and correct them according to code standards
  • Write and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets
  • Read and interpret various blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and product manuals to properly program and verify systems
  • Provide customer instruction as it relates to proper device use, preventative care, and consistent maintenance to prevent future system malfunctions
  • Evaluate the customer site for additional equipment and services that the customer may require
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
  • Strong electrical and technical aptitude
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and display excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of controversial and/or sensitive issues
  • Comply with the safety requirements of the position and actively promote safe work practices
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Technician, with a focus on programming and repairing.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA Standards (including 70 and 72) Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements (preferred)
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Valid Class D systems license
IDEAL QUALITIES
  • Experience programming Edwards systems
  • NICET II Fire Alarm Systems or higher certification
  • EL-O6 (Limited Energy Technician) Electrical License
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May work near moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions
  • The noise level is generally moderate.
